Account Synchronization

What Account Sync does

Account Sync is the account identifier mapping between RevOps and Salesforce.

In this section, you map:

  • RevOps: Account.account_id
  • Salesforce: one field on the Account object

This mapping helps RevOps identify which Salesforce Account corresponds to the RevOps account identity during CRM sync workflows.

What Account Sync does not do

Account Sync is not an account import wizard.

  • It does not bulk import Salesforce Accounts from this pane.
  • It does not automatically create all mappings for you.
  • It does not replace your broader Salesforce variable/mapping setup.

How customers should use this setting

Treat this as your account identity bridge.

Choose the Salesforce Account field that your team uses as the long-term canonical account key.

Should this be Salesforce Account.Id or a custom field?

Either can work, but the best choice is the field that is most stable for your process.

  • Use Salesforce Account.Id if your process treats that as the canonical key.
  • Use a custom external/account key field if your team relies on a stable business identifier across environments and migrations.

If sandbox/production records are frequently recreated, many teams prefer a custom stable key to reduce remapping risk.

Is Account Sync required?

You can connect Salesforce without immediately configuring this mapping, but it is strongly recommended for reliable account matching.

Only one Account Sync mapping is allowed.

Is it populated automatically?

No. This is configured manually during setup:

  1. Go to the Account Sync section.
  2. Click Add Mapping.
  3. Select the Salesforce Account field.
  4. Click Save.
